Kirsten Simone is an American actress and playwright. She gained fame for her character Penelope Garcia on the TV show Criminal Minds, a police crime procedural. She has also appeared in the two spin-off series 'Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior' and 'Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.' Kirsten Vangsness has appeared in several other television shows as well. In addition to her work as an actor on television Vangsness has also appeared in small roles in several movies following her acting debut in 1998. Her notable works in the film industry includes her appearances in the film 'In My Sleep The Chicago 8 as well as 'Kill Me, Deadly'. Alongside writing articles for the 'The Los Angeles Times', she is also a co-writer of three episodes in Criminal Minds. She's helped rescue and rehab numerous abandoned and injured kittens.
